Excel Beginner Course

Course Overview

This is a one-day training course tailored to teach absolute beginners the basics of Microsoft Excel. Lead by dedicated instructors who know the Microsoft Office package like the back of their hands, you’ll gain a valuable understanding of the fundamentals of Excel and leave with the confidence to create formatted spreadsheets using basic formulas and shortcuts. We’ll familiarise you with the Excel platform so you can comfortably navigate your way around to enter data, perform calculations, manage information and format worksheets to develop well-designed, print-ready spreadsheets.

Raising the Bar training courses are delivered face-to-face by certified experts using clear, easy to follow instructions. We keep our class sizes small so that all students achieve the best possible learning outcomes and supply all equipment so there’s no need to bring anything. You’ll learn through clear demonstrations and hands-on activities and leave with the skills needed to use Excel in personal and professional settings.

Upon completion of the Excel Beginner course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion, a comprehensive course manual to work through at your leisure and the proficiency required to proceed to one of our more advanced Excel courses.

Who Should Attend This Course

The Excel Beginner Training Course is designed especially for students who have very little or no experience with Microsoft Excel. This course is perfect if you’re a self-taught Excel user or complete newbie who wants to gain a solid understanding of the Excel platform and learn how to create formatted spreadsheets from scratch.

Typically, students who attend this course are looking to familiarise themselves with the basics of Excel and learn how to apply these skills on a daily basis. It is as well suited to individuals wanting to learn how to create household budgets as it is to employees who require Excel skills as part of their job. This course is right for you if you want to understand the basic functions of Excel and learn how to enter data, manage information and format worksheets for future use or print. It’s also suitable to students who are simply looking to gain a greater understanding of the Microsoft Office package and strengthen their computer skills.

Raising the Bar public training courses are available throughout the year in our Sydney training centre, or via closed group training sessions for companies and organisations in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth.
